Shakira and her children will return to Barcelona after ditching their lives in Spain two months ago for Miami.
The singer, 46, is set to land in the Catalan capital with her sons Milan, 10, and Sasha, 8, who she shares with footballer ex Gerard Pique, to allow the children to spend time at their father's home.
Shakira, who has called the Spanish city her home for more than a decade, will be returning and spending a few days with her family.
She is then expected to head off to visit her elderly father William Mebarak in Colombia, who is reportedly due to undergo surgery in their native city of Barranquilla.
The Hips Don't Lie songstress originally delayed her move to Miami due to her father becoming ill.
She eventually relocated in April after her messy break up from Pique following an 11 year relationship and two children together.
Shakira's return reportedly comes as her ex footballer beau was planning to travel to visit their children in Florida as per their custody agreement.
However, she feared the former Barcelona ace would bring his new girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti, 24, on the trip.
The custody agreement, which was finalised last November, gives Pique the chance during their children's school holidays to spend time with them.
It is expected Shakira and her sons will jet back to the States after the holidays have finished.
The couple had been together since 2011, with the pair having met while filming the music video for her World Cup song Waka Waka the previous year.
Piqué's team happened to win the World Cup that year, where his soon-to-be girlfriend performed during the final game.
Though the two corresponded in 2010, the relationship between the two mega-stars wouldn't officially take off until the start of 2011.
In the fall of 2012, Shakira would use her Instagram platform to announce to fans that she was pregnant with the football star's son.
Just two years after the birth of son Milan, the couple went in for round two and reveal they would be expecting their second child, Sasha, who was born in 2015.
The couple admitted publicly that they had no plans to wed, but that never stopped them from having a family life.
The Hips Don't Lie singer previously praised her boyfriend on his parenting style, claiming he's her 'biggest support' when it comes to raising their children.
She said: 'He's got his feet on the ground and is very practical about problem-solving. When I get stressed about how to organise things or juggle it all, he helps put it all in perspective.
'And he is my biggest support. We're both very hands-on parents, so it never feels like one is carrying the entire load on their own. He probably lets them have a little more chocolate than I'd like, though.'
Shakira appeared in good spirits as she watched Lewis Hamilton compete at the F1 Grand Prix of Spain at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Sunday, as rumours of romance between the pair swirl.
The Columbian singer, 46, could be smiling as she stood in the stands, wearing a multi-coloured blouse with a paisley pattern.
Her silky top featured shades of blue, pink and white, with the pattern being gold.
She wore lashings of make-up to highlight her pretty features, including a pink lip.
The pop star looked engrossed in the race as she watched with her friends, with the group reacting as the cars raced by.
